Vampire Hunter

Vampire Hunter

As I walked through the doors of the abandoned factory, I couldn’t help but feel eyes glued to the back of my head. As he reached to his side, slowly he pulled the pistol from the holster and continued forward. The creaks of his footsteps echoed throughout the factory now, his breathing and a faint dripping noise was the only sounds that could be heard.

He flashed the flashlight upward at the ceiling, as he saw several coffins seemingly stuck to the ceiling, as one stone coffin’s top slowly slid off as it fell violently to the ground. “What the—!?” He yelled as he jumped out of the way as the lid shattered into hundreds of pieces and caused damage to the metal floor. Viktor looked up again and saw a brief glimpse of one of them, he could feel the presence of more of them now as he realized he walked into a death trap.

“So, you decided to walk into our home without considering the consequences?” A woman’s voice spoke, coming from the dark as she came into the moonlight shining through a couple wooden boards on the wall.

“You! Why are you here?!” He demanded an answer.
“Why am I here? Why are you here?” Did you forget where you are or something?” She asked.

“You disgusting blood suckers shouldn’t be here though! Why are you in this factory in the middle of nowhere?” He asked.

“Because humans like you hunt us down to no end. We have to hide like this to survive. Did you ever consider what your family was doing is wrong?” She asked, seeming truly confused by his actions.

“Us humans? You blood sucking parasites kill more than half of the population on average! Why should we allow you to keep living even though this is nobody’s fault but your own for existing?” He sneered, his hand resting on the trigger of the pistol as he aimed at her now.

She let out a sigh, “you think we asked to be blighted with this disease? We can’t experience warm sunlight without the pain of being destroyed by it.

Ever since we vowed against harming humankind, we’ve become better… But I guess us targeting deer and other carnivores is wrong. Us existing as we are now just flat out wrong, I guess. You humans are strange creatures. You feel entitled to be the only species that gets to say what goes… Well, I have a gift for you Mister. Since you stumbled into our humble abode, we’ll give you exemplary guest treatment…” She flashed out of his view quickly as he shot. The bullet ricochet off the nearby wall and went through one of the boards on the walls.

“Damnit! I missed,” he pulled the pistol in and huddled backward; but he was already surrounded. As chants were spoken by the other spawn present, she came back to the light as she approached. Her appearance once beautiful and ethereal, but now grotesque and ugly; she launched forward as they grabbed his arms. They snatched the pistol away from him and flung it across the factory. “No! What are you—” then he realized what was about to happen.

“No, I can’t die like this! There was still so much I needed to do, places to explore, people to meet, to fall in love with, to experience! Now some lowly vampire spawn is going to claim me as its next victim! I’ve forsaken the Brimwell bloodline!!” Viktor frantically yelled, looking up at her as tears welled in his eyes.

She began laughing, “you know… It’s kind of funny, you waltzed in here as if you were going to earn your stripes as a Slayer, but here you are losing your marbles because a mere ‘vampire spawn’ is going to kill you… Oh what will you do Viktor Brimwell?”

“You better be glad they’re holding me back!! If they weren’t I’d give you a piece of my mind!” He hissed, as the tears hardened, and he gained his anger again.

“Oh will you now?” She asked, gesturing for the spawn to let him up.
They let him go and faded into the shadows now as it was only her and him. “So, what was all that?” She asked, she seemed intrigued by his switch of bravery.

He wasted no time and tried attacking her, but her movements were too fast for her. “You seem fun human; would you like to become my little plaything?”

He scoffed at her proposal, “over my dead body!”
She smirked as he came in for another attack as he tried to punch her again, but she grabbed him by his arm. “No, no, no— wait!” Viktor frantically yelled.

She grabbed his head and forced it to stretch to the side as she sank her teeth into his veins. He felt his soul beginning to leave his body as her moans grew louder then his body fell to the ground as she continued to drink until the light in his eyes were just about to leave. “That was a tasty snack human but lets keep this going. Alright?” She spoke sensually, she lifted her vein, cut it, and forced it into his mouth. Viktor clearly confused and near death’s door, drank. He continued drinking her blood like sweet nectar until she pulled his head back. His bloodied mouth, and hers met as the moonlight shined on the both of them. Viktor could feel his vitality strained, but he could not deny the overwhelming feeling of lust he felt from being around the woman now.

That night, Viktor would begin his process. The woman introduced him to a new kind of pleasure, one that would change his entire worldview.

After several hours of love making, she looked up at him. “So, do you agree to become my little plaything?”

He looked at her, his eyes were deep black from ball to pupil as he nodded. “I never—… Got your name…”

“Oh dear, where are my manners? Well, I’m sure you’ve heard it before… Samaela Carmine.”

He gasped, “you’re The Carmine Huntress…”
“Well, I’ve went by many names in my time among humans… And I’m sure you know why humans never come across me…”

“Why is that, Mistress?” He asked, cuddled against her.
“Because they never make it out of my sight. I’m a man’s sweetest dream and I can also be the worst possible nightmare… But there’s something they didn’t tell you about me… It’s in the name, but at some point I grew tired of living this Vampiric lifestyle. For my own good and for those who wished to not cause harm; we started a bloodline dedicated to hunting down Vampires. I am the Carmine Matron, the Crimson Huntress, the Blood Queen, all of these names synonymously line up with who I am or what I represented.”

“Vampires as vampire hunters… I never heard such a thing.” He replied, as his eyes began to turn back to their original color.

“Well, given the state of the Vampire Hunting Organization; it’s to be expected. We hunt in secrecy despite our ongoing war with humans. Tell me something human, have you ever heard of the Hart family from Romania?”

“Yes, I have but not much is known about them.”
“Like us, that family is also a group of Vampire Hunters that are also spawn of Vampires. But unlike here, they’ve integrated themselves into the makings of the Hunters… Now, would you like to know your role?”

He hesitated, as a ball formed in his throat and a gulp soon after. He nodded at her, “I want you to continue Vampire Hunting as you are… But my brood, we’ll be making some changes. Regarding location and diet… Since you had such an issue with us being here. We’ll be joining you at your place of living.”

“But—”
“Oh? Are you going to refuse my order?”

He sighed, “No Mistress—… but… what do you mean you’ll be changing your diet as well?”

“Well, in a week from now; you won’t be able to go without blood… So let’s just say you’ll need to figure something out. In the time that this is going to set in, you’ll come to understand what it means to be a vampire.” She spoke.

He stood up, as the moonlight shined down on him, his skin glistened as she looked up at him. “If you weren’t so close to death’s door, I’d take another drink…”
